REMI turns renewable portfolio data into autonomous action

Renewable portfolios have outgrown the tools built to watch over them. Operators who once managed a handful of sites now run fleets stretching from dozens to well over a thousand, spanning solar, wind, storage, and hybrid assets at once, generating data too vast and varied for dashboards that simply flag problems for a human to interpret.

In a video interview with Smart Energy Management, Power Factors' Chief Product and Technology Officer Albert Hofeldt breaks down how Unity REMI, the intelligence engine built into the Unity renewable energy management suite (REMS), is designed to close that gap.

That's also why trust, not just capability, is the real constraint on autonomy here. Renewable assets underpin critical infrastructure, so every recommendation REMI makes has to trace back to the raw data behind it. Built natively into the Unity Suite's data hierarchies rather than layered on top as a generic AI add-on, REMI offers that auditability by design, which is what lets operators hand it progressively more of the workflow as renewable fleets keep scaling into the tens of gigawatts.
